2018 is our return to riding the Velo4Kids Health ride. After a seasons break, it is time to get this thing rolling again. We will be riding for both YMCA Strong Kids and the Canadian Mental Health Association again, those donation links will be available soon, and looks like our little group will grow. We have added some new riders, and looking to a few more. Be careful... you might be in our sights! Tentatively we are planning the following four day route: Day1: North Bay to Huntsville Day 2: Huntsville to Geneva Park Day 3: Geneva Park to Ceder Glen Day4: Ceder Glen to Niagara (with a YMCA of Oakville stop) All in all, it will be about 600Kms, a few long days, a few moderate ones, and about 2000m of Climbing. Day one, as it was in 2016 will be our biggest and most challenging day. So, keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter page for updates, and we hope to have more information and firm donation links available soon! 4 Days for Kids Health - VELO4KIDS

Velo for Kids health is just rolling out of the gate, a ride of passion devised to be as equally tough as it is meaningful. The concept was simple; create something difficult, create something meaningful and draw attention to both the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign and the Canadian Mental Health Association. Quentin and myself both have strong attachments to these causes and in particular to supporting the positive development of today's youth. The struggles, barriers and a general sense of "alone" is very prevalent and disturbing within our youth population. Be it a family who can not afford food on the table or to simply give their child the opportunity to participate, or the teen who feels hopeless and believes they have no where to go, no one to turn and no solutions other then a tragic and meaningless end. We ride for all these reason and more.... 2016 will be a tester/teaser year, we have some unique ideas and some logistics to sort out before expanding it and accepting an influx of riders. Most of these logistics for a larger group will only be accommodated if we first have a change to complete the ride as we see it and modify based on what we encounter. So for 2016 (August 12-16th) 10 riders along with a support crew will make the inaugural journey in preparation for a full launch in 2017. Now, this does not mean we will not be seeking sponsors, volunteers and donors for the first year. We most definitely want to kick off the tester/teaser year with a big bang to have all the dedicated parties in place to sustain the ride for 2017 and beyond. So keep an eye on the Facebook Page, the Twitter Feed and this Webpage for updates as they roll out. The journey will be tough, the distances long, but for us a riders there is a foreseeable end, which is not always the case for the ones we are riding to support..... Brandon |
